Funding allocation
The Jobs for Nature programme was originally allocated $1.245 billion in 2020. Since then, the overall funding has been reduced to $1.185 billion as successive governments responded to emerging priorities:
Adjustments to total funding:
- June 2021: $26.6 million reprioritised to the roll-out of cameras on commercial fishing vessels
- March 2023: $11.55 million reprioritised to the Environmental Monitoring and Reporting System initiative
- May 2023 (Budget 2023): $7.679 million in unallocated funds returned
- May 2024 (Budget 2024): $14.018 million returned from Vote Environment
